Weaver Rifle Scopes

Weaver scopes were introduced in 1930 and since then Weaver developed a name synonymous with quality in the hunting and shooting world. One of the first scopes the author owned decades ago was a Weaver fixed 6 power.

Following a merger with another company in recent years, the Grand Slam weaverscopes line was introduced and it can be said that Weaver scopes better than ever. The Weaver company produces several lines of different scopes, but the Grand Slam line is definitely a favorite. Outdoor retailers will readily tell sportsmen that for the money, the Grand Slam has considerable quality.

The Grand Slam rifle scope line includes several models like variable power scopes such as 1.5-5x32mm and 3-10x40mm as well as 3.5-10x50mm and 4.5-14x40mm scope. The Grand Slam line also offers the 6-20x4mm AO variable power and the fixed power 4.75x40mm.

These new scopes are designed with tubes manufactured from aircraft quality aluminum. The scopes 1″ diameter scope tubes have lenses crafted from camera quality glass. Multi-coatings treat the lens to further reduce glare. The elevation and windage adjustments can be operated with no special tools required.

It is evident that the designers at Weaver devoted much time into planning this new lineup of Weaver scopes. The exterior has a rubberized fast focus ring and a sure-grip exterior that can manipulated easily even if the hunter is wearing gloves. The Grand Slam line with full fogproof, waterproof and shockproof capabilities. Like most quality optics companies, a limited lifetime warranty is offered, with repair or replacement of any defective scope at no charge if the scope is owned by the original owner.

While Weaver has developed an excellent reputation over the decades, they seem to have their sights for the with the new Grand Slam line. Featuring a reasonable price tag, these scopes look as though they are going to remain competitive with more expensive brands for a while.
